Advancement Phase
The U13s mark an important step in the academy journey as players transition into 11v11 football. This brings new challenges: bigger pitches, increased tactical awareness, and the physical demands of the full game. The U13 squad is a close-knit group that thrives on hard work, teamwork, and commitment.
Coaching & Support
Led by Sam, with support from both Iain and Martin, players benefit from a range of coaching expertise. The team is guided to adapt to the demands of 11v11 football while maintaining a focus on developing as individuals.
Training & Matches
- Two sessions per week (technical/tactical + team-based).
- Saturday JPL fixtures provide players with regular, competitive football.
- Rotational coaching on Tuesdays exposes players to different perspectives and playing styles.
Player Development
The emphasis at this age is on learning positions, understanding formations, and improving decision-making. Players are encouraged to show creativity in attack, discipline in defence, and to develop the confidence to express themselves on a bigger stage.
