Report A Concern

We at Hartland have each players best interest at heart, they are at the very centre of what we do and nothing is more important than their enjoyment of the game, and keeping them safe. Plus happy players play better. To that end Hartland have created a comprehensive Safeguarding Policy.

But what is safeguarding and welfare?

Provide a safe environment for players and staff

This starts right at the beginning when we recruit staff and look for facilities and equipment. All staff have to complete mandated training for first aid, safeguarding and coaching training. Anyone working with players or involved in handling player data must go through a DBS Enhanced background check.

These principles apply to players and parents too, we ask everyone to sign up to our Player & Parent Code of Conduct and agree to respect other players, staff and the opposing team in games.

Before booking facilities they are thoroughly inspected by club staff to ensure they are safe and fit for purpose, the same goes for equipment.

At training and at games we always ensure that there is adequate staff. Medical Emergency Action Plans are created for all club facilities and provided to staff so they are prepared for an emergency.

Embrace inclusivity and different

Everybody is different and there is zero tolerance for any form of bullying or discrimination in the club. If you have witnessed this or have been subject to it, report it. You can give your details or remain anonymous.

Social Media and online safety

Social media is a great place to share success and talk to friends in the football community but it can also be the source of improper misinformation and bullying. Comments by even a single person can bring a club into disrepute and cause harm to others without ever even meeting them. To remove any ambiguity Hartland have a Social Media Policy. By all means share the story of the club, but say anything online you wouldn’t want said to you.

Someone to talk to

We are here if you are not happy, no sure about something, need someone to talk to or have any concern. Contrary to what you see on Facebook, not everyone is leading the perfect life. If you need someone to talk to, say hi, send an email, whatever it takes. We are all fighting our own battles every single day.
